3 month old still not sleeping through the night - is this normal?

My son is 3 months old and we're still getting up 2-3 times a night. My wife is exhausted and honestly so am I. We've tried everything - white noise machine, blackout curtains, keeping him on a schedule. Some guys at work say their kids were sleeping 8 hours by now but others say this is totally normal. Should we try sleep training yet or is he too young? Any advice appreciated.
