3 Month Old Still Not Sleeping Through the Night - When Does This Get Better

Our daughter is almost 3 months and still waking up twice a night for feeding. My wife is exhausted and honestly so am I. We've tried everything - white noise, blackout curtains, keeping room temperature down. Ped said it's normal but I'm starting to wonder if we're doing something wrong. Other dads, when did your babies start sleeping through? My brother's kid was sleeping 6 hours by 8 weeks and I feel like we're behind.

Hang in there man, 3 months is still early. My daughter didn't sleep through consistently until around 5-6 months, and it was rough those first few months. The fact that your wife is aware and you're both in it together makes a huge difference.

Bath time at our place is absolute chaos every night, so I feel the exhaustion in your post. That said, the sleep does get better even when it feels like it won't. Stick with the routine you've got going.

It gets better, I promise. Mine was up constantly at 3 months too. By month 5 we got our first full night and I almost woke her up to check if she was okay. Now at 18 months she sleeps like a champ. You're in the thick of it now but it won't last.

Every baby is different but most pediatricians say around 4-6 months is when they can physically go longer between feeds. Some make it there sooner, some take longer. The waiting is brutal though. My wife and I took shifts to help her get at least one solid block of sleep a night.

The exhaustion at that stage is no joke. Your wife needs to know you're in this with her. Take some of those night feedings if you can so she can get chunks of uninterrupted sleep. It makes a huge difference.

Three months is still rough, man. Our daughter was the same way. We finally got consistent sleep around month 5 or 6. The exhaustion is real but you're almost through the worst of it. Hang in there.
