5-month-old refusing one specific bottle?

This is so dumb but our son will take a bottle fine from any of our 4 Tommee Tippee bottles EXCEPT the blue one. It's the exact same bottle. He just refuses it. He'll scream and turn his head. Why would he care about the color?? We've tested it - same formula temp, same time of day, doesn't matter. It's just that one blue bottle. Has anyone experienced anything this weird or am I being pranked by my own child?

lmao not dumb at all. my kid did this with a green spoon. Green spoon ONLY. we eventually just retired the other spoons because this power struggle wasn't worth it. solidarity brother

wait this is actually a known thing - sometimes babies can see their own reflection in certain bottles and it trips them out, or the nipple flow is slightly different even if it looks identical. try the blue one but with a different nipple? could also just be a weird association at this point tho

This happened with my daughter and her favorite pacifier - we eventually figured out it was literally just the color. Sometimes babies are just weird and have opinions about random stuff. The good news is once he gets a bit older and less bottle dependent, he'll forget he ever cared.

Could be a sight line thing or the angle the nipple sits at in his mouth. My son was the same way - looked identical to us but apparently wasn't. We just gave the blue one to daycare and problem solved. Weird hill to die on with a 5mo old.
