Anyone else find out their wife was pregnant and immediately panic-bought stuff?

Just me? We got the positive test and literally within 2 hours I'd ordered a video monitor, a fancy diaper pail, and somehow a $200 swaddle blanket set. Wife was like "we need to tell people first" and I'm over here acting like we have 4 weeks instead of 6 months. lol. I think I'm coping with anxiety through Amazon purchases. Therapy would probably be cheaper at this point.

This is just how new dads process anxiety. You can't control much once the baby's here, so we control what we can buy. Within reason at least.

The video monitor thing I get because people actually say it's useful, but swaddle blankets are just blankets. Your baby will literally sleep in a hospital blanket just fine.

Not just you. Congrats on the news btw. That anxiety rush is real—suddenly your brain is like "we need EVERYTHING and it needs to be the BEST version." We returned like half our stuff after the baby came because we didn't actually need it.

I did this but with safety stuff. Car seat covers, outlet covers, cabinet locks, bumpers for literally every corner. Wife was like "the baby isn't even here and you're childproofing like someone's trying to break in."

The panic buying is so real. I did the same thing and my wife found me at 2am researching which white noise machine had the best reviews. We didn't even have the baby yet.

I panic-bought a humidifier, three white noise machines, and blackout curtains before our kid was born. Turns out you really only need ONE of each thing. Congrats on the pregnancy though—that panic feeling goes away after about week 2.

Dude the panic buying is so real. I did the exact same thing. Ordered like 6 different types of bottles because I wasn't sure which ones were "best." Wife was like "we literally don't even know what our baby will be yet" and I'm already optimizing the nursery
