We spent $400 on this Halo bassinet and our boy will NOT sleep in it. The second we put him down he screams like we're abandoning him. We've ended up cosleeping (safely, I've done the research) which is fine but now I'm wondering if we wasted money. Did anyone's kid eventually accept the bassinet or should we just sell it and get something different?
Some babies just hate bassinets. Ours screamed every single time we tried it. We sold it after a month and just stuck with cosleeping (safely). Saved us money on future stuff and honestly our kid slept better. Don't force it.
If he won't use it now, he's probably not going to suddenly love it in a month or two. I'd recommend just moving past the sunk cost and finding a setup that actually works for your family. Cosleeping is totally legitimate if you're doing it safely.
How old is he? Some babies need like 2-3 months before they'll accept the bassinet. But if you're happy cosleeping safely, there's literally zero reason to keep trying. The bassinet is just one option, not a requirement.
The research thing you did is important though - the fact that you looked into safe cosleeping means you're already thinking about this way more carefully than the average parent. If he sleeps and you sleep and he's not in danger, the $400 bassinet is irrelevant.

The Halo is nice but honestly not necessary. If he's sleeping safely cosleeping then you're good. The $400 is a sunk cost - don't throw more money at bassinets trying to make it work.
We tried the Halo for like a week, kid hated it, sold it on Facebook Marketplace for $300. Not a total loss. If yours won't use it, honestly just resell it and save yourself the frustration.
