My 3-month-old has decided that the only acceptable sleeping arrangement is on my chest. The second I try to put her down in the bassinet she loses it. I know some people say let them cry it out but I'm not ready for that yet. My wife keeps saying I'm making a rod for my own back but honestly I don't mind. Just wondering if this is normal or if we're doing something wrong?
Mine did this at 3 months too. It's exhausting but it's also kind of sweet looking back. Make sure you're taking turns with your partner though. One person sleeping while the other has the baby helped us survive it.
So welcome to dad life. Your son is basically telling you he likes you. Yeah it's rough on sleep but this phase passes faster than you'd think. Just ride it out.
That's the contact nap stage and it's real. Our youngest did this for months. Here's the thing - it does eventually end. In the meantime, get comfortable, download something good, and just accept that's your life for a bit.
Try wearing him in a wrap or carrier during the day so you can at least have your hands free. And talk to your pediatrician if you're worried he's not getting good sleep, but the short answer is yes, tons of babies do this.
This is totally normal at 3 months. The contact comfort thing is huge for their development. That said if you need a break, white noise machines and swaddling helped us transition our second kid to the bassinet around 4-5 months.
Mine did this for the first few months and honestly I just accepted it. My chest became his favorite spot from like week 2 onwards. The weird part is now I kind of miss it sometimes even though my back was always sore.
Sounds like you're doing exactly what he needs. My pediatrician said this phase is actually good for bonding. Just make sure you're getting sleep somehow during the day if possible.

Yep, been there. My daughter refused everything else until around 5 months. Just ride it out, you're doing great. One day they'll want their own space and you'll wonder where the time went.
