Anyone's kid actually use those activity mats?
Got like 3 of these things as gifts and my 4-month-old just stares at them while I flail the toys around like an idiot. Cost me $200+ combined. Am I using them wrong or are babies just not into them?

My daughter didn't care until she was like 6-7 months old and could actually grab things with purpose. Before that it was just us making animal noises at a baby who wanted to sleep. The high contrast ones seemed to hold attention better than the colorful ones though.
Dude same, we have like 5 activity mats and my son treats them like they're invisible. He'd rather chew on the play mat itself than touch the dangling toys. Pretty sure they're just expensive floor decorations at this point.
The Lovevery one everyone raves about is legitimately not as good as people say. Save your money unless you're really into the whole developmental stage thing. A cardboard box and some measuring spoons kept my kid entertained just as long.
They're way more useful once they can roll and crawl. At 4 months you're basically just looking at a baby who lies there and exists. Give it another couple months and suddenly the mat becomes relevant.

Try rotating them out? Like put one away for a few weeks and bring it back. Worked for us because everything became new again. Also honestly the main benefit was like 15 minutes of guaranteed floor time where I could drink coffee in peace.
