Anyone use a Snoo bassinet? Worth the $1500?

We're expecting our second kid in about 4 months and my wife is pushing hard for a Snoo bassinet for the bedroom. I know people who swear by it but... it's $1500 for a fancy bassinet that lasts like 6 months. That's a lot of money.

Our first kid did fine in a regular bassinet next to the bed. What am I missing? Does it actually sleep better or is this just rich parent stuff? Looking for honest takes, not the Instagram influencer version.

The app integration is kind of neat but also kind of unnecessary? You get notifications about how your baby is sleeping which is honestly more stress than helpful sometimes.

Honestly I'd skip it. We rented one for our second kid and it was fine but not $1500 fine. A regular bassinet with a good mattress does basically the same thing.

If you have a first kid who slept terribly then maybe the Snoo is worth it for second kid. But if your first was fine then you already know what works and $1500 seems expensive for the same outcome.

We used the Snoo for our second and honestly it was amazing. Our first kid didn't sleep well for months but the Snoo kid slept through the night by week 3. That said, your mileage may vary.

Buy used if you go that route. A lot of people sell them after a few months. Can get one for like $700-900 on Facebook Marketplace.

The Snoo is cool if you have the money to burn but the learning curve is real. My kid fought it for like two weeks. Could have just used a regular bassinet in that time.
