Something just clicked. My son is finally smiling when he sees me and making eye contact and cooing and holy crap it's amazing. All those early weeks of feeling disconnected are fading because now he actually recognizes me. This is the stuff nobody really explains - that bonding takes time and it's not automatic. But once it starts happening? Man, I get why people become obsessed with their kids now.

That first real smile hits different, doesn't it? My daughter just started doing that last month and man, it makes all those rough nights feel worth it.

Three months is such a sweet spot where they go from potato to actual human. Congrats on making it through those early weeks, that's the hard part.
