Baby refuses to sleep in bassinet

Our 2 week old will only sleep on me or my wife's chest. Soon as we put him down he loses his mind. I know the internet says we gotta do the safe sleep stuff but man it's rough. Anyone else dealt with this? Do they eventually learn to like the bassinet or are we doomed to be human pillows for months?

Man, those first few weeks are brutal. We basically just let ours sleep on us for the first month and then transitioned him. Don't stress too much about it yet, you're doing fine.

Two weeks in and you're already doing better than me, honestly. Our dog was way more chill about the bassinet than our first kid was. Stick with it though, he'll adjust.
