Baby refusing bottle after 3 weeks of breastfeeding

My wife is going back to work in a couple weeks and we've been trying to get our daughter used to a bottle. We've tried like 5 different bottles now and she just screams and spits it out every time. Meanwhile she'll eat fine when mom is nursing. Anyone else deal with this? How long before she'll actually take one? I'm supposed to be watching her next Thursday and I'm honestly nervous about it.

We had the same issue with our daughter. The bottle rejection is real. What helped us was having my wife leave the room when we tried the bottle - she could smell the breast milk and just wanted that instead. Also warmed the bottle to body temperature. Took about a week but she finally got it.

Have you tried letting someone else give the bottle? Sometimes they're less suspicious if it's not mom doing it. Good luck with the transition, that's a tough one.

Try different nipple flows too. Some babies are picky about how fast the milk comes out. We went through like 4 different bottles before our son would take one without losing his mind.
