Wife has been trying for an hour. The lactation consultant said everything looks fine but our daughter just isn't getting it. She's hungry and crying, my wife is crying, and I feel helpless. Has anyone dealt with this? We're thinking about bottles but wife feels bad about it. Please tell me this gets easier.
This is rough but you're not alone. My wife went through the same thing. The frustration is real but latching usually clicks eventually. Stay patient with each other.
An hour of trying is exhausting for both of you. We had to take breaks and come back to it. Sometimes the pressure of making it work makes it harder. You guys are doing fine even if it doesn't feel like it.
Keep trying but also know that some babies need a few days to figure it out. We used a nipple shield for a bit which helped our daughter get the latch down faster.

Lactation consultants usually know what they're talking about so if she said position looks good it might just be a patience thing. Took us almost two weeks before our daughter figured it out.
