Baby won't sleep unless someone is holding him - is this normal?

My son is 2 weeks old and if I put him down even for a second he loses his mind. I've been holding him for like 8 hours straight today. My arms are killing me but my wife is exhausted from feeding and I don't want to bother her. Is this a newborn thing that will pass or are we doing something wrong? First time dad here and I'm second guessing everything.

Man, two weeks is prime newborn phase where they basically live on you. It gets easier, I swear. Try taking shifts with your wife so you can at least get a break and some feeling back in your arms.

Two weeks in and you're already doing great by holding him as much as you can. That's totally normal, they just want to feel safe and hear your heartbeat. Your arms will get stronger, I promise.

Totally normal at that age, he just wants to be close to his dad. Soak it in because before you know it they don't want anything to do with you haha.
