We're trying to get our 3 week old to take a bottle so my wife can get a break and I can feed him, but he just spits it out and screams. We've tried 4 different bottles and different nipple flows. Has anyone dealt with this? She's determined to breastfeed which is great but I feel useless. Any suggestions?
Man, 3 weeks in is brutal with the bottle thing. We went through like 6 different ones before our guy figured it out around week 5. Hang in there, it'll click eventually.
This was our life for weeks too. Honestly the lactation consultant told us to just keep trying different bottles and eventually one would work. Feels endless now but you'll get through it.
Try warming the bottle a bit more, sometimes they're picky about temperature. Also heard some parents have better luck if mom leaves the room so baby doesn't smell her milk. Rough situation though.

Try the bottles with the slowest flow nipple you can find. And warm the milk to body temp. At 3 weeks old he's still figuring everything out so sometimes it just takes time.

We had this same problem at 3 weeks. Honestly just kept trying different bottles and different times of day. After like two weeks our son finally took one. Patience is key, don't stress it too much.
Everything goes in the mouth at this age but bottles are apparently not invited to the party. Teething seems far away now but I remember reading that some babies are just picky about bottle nipples versus the real thing.
