Bonding with baby while mom is doing most of the work

My wife is on maternity leave and honestly she's basically doing everything. Feeding, changing, soothing. I come home from work and feel like a guest in my own house. I want to bond with my 6 week old daughter but every time I hold her she cries until mom takes her back. I feel like I'm missing out and she's gonna grow up not knowing me. What can I actually do to be more involved when I'm only home a few hours a day?

Dude, step up and ask what needs to be done. Don't wait for permission. Change a diaper, give a bottle, do a night feeding. Your wife will appreciate it and you'll bond with your baby way faster.
This was me too. I felt useless the first few weeks until I realized I could handle feedings and fussiness just fine. Your wife probably wants a break more than anything. Jump in.
