So my wife is pumping and I'm taking the night feeds to let her sleep. But I'm confused about the storage situation. How long can pumped milk sit out? How long in the fridge? She wrote it on a note but I can't remember and don't want to text her at 2am when she's finally sleeping. Is there an app or something that tells you this stuff?
Four hours is my life right now so I feel you taking those night feeds. Pumped milk is good for 4 hours at room temp, 24 hours in the fridge. That way your wife actually gets real sleep and you know you're feeding safe milk.
Good on you for doing the night feeds man. For pumped milk storage, it's 4 hours at room temp, 4 days in the fridge, and 6 months in the freezer. Write the date on every bag with a Sharpie or you'll lose track.
The storage stuff is important. Back of the fridge is best, not the door. Temperature fluctuates too much on the door. There's a lot of info out there and some of it contradicts so definitely look at the official guidelines.
Your wife is lucky to have you handling nights. Make sure you're labeling everything with dates. We had mystery milk in our fridge for a week because I didn't write them down.

That's awesome you're taking the night feeds. The general rule is 4 hours max at room temp, but honestly we keep it in the fridge and warm it up when we need it. Safer that way and one less thing to stress about at 3am.
