We're doing combo feeding with breast and bottle. Just started introducing bottles with expressed milk so my wife can get a break. How do you know if baby is getting enough? She seems satisfied but I keep checking the bottles and calculating ounces. Is this normal dad anxiety or should I be genuinely worried? First time parent here, feeling a bit lost on the feeding stuff.
We did the same combo feeding setup and honestly the bottles were a game changer for us. My advice is don't stress too much about the exact amount, every baby is different. Just watch for wet diapers and if he's gaining weight at checkups you're golden. The transition between breast and bottle can be weird for some babies but most figure it out pretty quick.
One thing we learned the hard way with expressed milk - get some good bottles and maybe try a few different nipple flows before you commit. Our daughter rejected the first set we got and we felt like idiots spending more money. Also sterilizing everything gets old fast so maybe grab a good bottle sanitizer if you haven't already.

Just FYI the nursing strikes and bottle preference thing is real. We had moments where our kid would take the bottle from mom but refuse the breast. La Leche League has some good resources if you hit that wall. Combo feeding is totally legit though, you've got this.
