Breastfeeding but need advice on bottle feeding
My wife is breastfeeding our 6 week old but we want me to do some feedings with a bottle so she can get breaks. We got the bottles but when I try it, the baby screams and my wife gets stressed. Anyone have tips on making this transition smoother? I want to help and I want to bond with my baby but I'm clearly doing something wrong.
Six weeks is perfect timing to introduce bottles. My wife and I started around week 4 with pumped milk. The bottle helped me bond with our daughter in a different way and gave mom an actual break. Game changer for both of us.
We're doing the same thing right now at 6 weeks. Started with the Tommee Tippee bottles since they're supposedly easier for babies switching between breast and bottle. So far so good. The key is being patient - some babies take a couple tries before they're cool with it.
