Breastfeeding struggles with first time mom

My wife is really struggling with latching and nursing is painful for her. Pediatrician says baby is getting enough but it's rough watching her be in pain every feed. We got a pump and bottle but I feel like there's a lot of pressure and guilt from everywhere about breast being best. Just trying to support her the best I can. Anyone else deal with this?

Nursing pain is real and you're doing the right thing by supporting her through it. Some warm compresses and a good lactation consultant made all the difference for us.

It's hard to watch your partner go through that. Just being supportive and available to help with everything else is huge right now. Things usually improve after those first few weeks.

That's tough, man. My wife had similar issues early on. A lactation consultant really helped us more than I expected. Definitely worth looking into if the pediatrician can recommend someone.
