My son gave us his first real social smile this morning and I literally teared up. My wife was changing his diaper and he just looked right at her and smiled. We got it on video. I know people say babies smile in their sleep and whatever but this was different, he was looking right at us. Best feeling ever.
That's the good stuff right there. The whole thing is worth it for moments like that. Enjoy it because it goes so fast.
