Feeding bottle recommendations? Trying to introduce bottles to breastfed baby

We're at 6 weeks with our second son and my wife wants to start pumping so I can do some night feeds. We've been using the Tommee Tippee bottles with our first kid and honestly they were fine but SLOW. Takes forever to feed him. Looking for something with a faster flow that won't confuse him since he's still at the breast most of the time. Has anyone used the Comotomo bottles? Or those natural flow ones? Budget isn't really an issue, just want something that actually works.

Skip Tommee Tippee for night feeds—they're great for casual use but yeah, painfully slow. We switched to Philips Avent and the flow is way better for express feeds when you just want to get through it

We did the same transition at 6 weeks with our second and honestly the bottle type mattered WAY less than I thought. He took whatever, the key was just being consistent with one brand so he didn't get confused

Avent user here and the flow difference is noticeable—pump straight into the bottle, faster feeds, less frustration at 2am when you're running on fumes

The slow bottle thing is actually good news for paced feeding but I get it, 3am you just want the baby fed. Dr. Browns makes some fast-flow options if you size up the nipple

Tommee Tippee are fine but def slow if you're trying to establish decent bottle pace. Our lactation consultant actually recommended Comotomo or even the Philips Avent Natural bottles - closer to breastfeeding flow so less confusion. Second kid we switched after the first few weeks of SLOW mode

fair point but also we just want to not be awake for an hour while the kid slowly eats at 2am lol. balance is good - we use the faster bottles for dad's feeds, stick with the slower ones during the day when mom's feeding

slow bottles actually might be better for breastfed babies tho - keeps them from expecting an easy flow and getting nipple confusion or refusing the boob

the prep work for pumping equipment is no joke tho. make sure your wife has a good pump and gets time to actually relax while she's pumping or it defeats the purpose. my wife was stressed trying to pump while also managing our toddler and her supply tanked

Second kid problems—you know the struggle is real. Have you looked at MAM bottles? They're pricier but the flow rates are legit and they still feel natural for breastfed babies

Honestly at 6 weeks you might want to wait just a bit longer anyway. We introduced bottles at 8 weeks with #2 and breastfeeding was way more established. Less stress all around.

We're on our 3rd set of bottles across our kids because apparently I keep trying different ones lol. Ended up with Dr. Browns - theyre a bit annoying to clean but the venting system means less gas and they flow better. Worth it when you're doing night feeds and just want the baby to eat and go back to sleep
