Feeding schedule nightmare - formula vs breast milk

Wife wants to exclusively pump and give bottles, which I'm totally fine with because I can help with feedings at night. But her mom keeps saying we need to breastfeed directly. Baby is gaining weight fine, is completely full, but now my wife is stressed about doing it wrong. We're about 4 weeks in with a healthy kid, why does everyone have opinions about what we're doing?

Pumping and bottles is honestly the move if you can make it work. Being able to handle feedings yourself means you're actually a full partner in this. Way better than feeling helpless.

Just a heads up - the mental load of managing pumping schedules on your wife is real even if you're doing the bottle feedings. Make sure you're picking up other stuff to even it out.

This setup worked great for us. Just remember that pumping burns a ton of calories so your wife needs to be eating way more than usual. Easy thing to overlook.
