Feeling useless when mom is breastfeeding
My wife is exclusively nursing our 2 month old and while I'm grateful we don't have to deal with pumping, I feel like I'm just standing around watching her do all the hard work. I do bottles when we use expressed milk and diaper changes but those feel like crumbs. Anyone else feel like this? Any ways to be more involved without making your partner feel like you're not supportive of breastfeeding?
Man, I felt this hard at 4 months. The breastfeeding thing was brutal for me because I felt like I was just... watching. But here's what helped: I took over literally everything else. Night diaper changes, baths, getting the baby ready in the morning. It gave me my own thing to do and actually made me feel essential. You're not useless, you're just in a different role right now.
