First Night Home and I'm Terrified
Just brought our daughter home yesterday and I'm running on like 2 hours of sleep. Every time she makes a noise I think something's wrong. Wife is trying to get some rest so I'm on duty and I'm basically googling everything. Is it normal for babies to make those weird grunting sounds while sleeping? Anyone else have that moment where you realize this tiny human is actually your responsibility now and you have no idea what you're doing?
The first night is the hardest because you don't know her cries yet. Every sound feels like an emergency. By week two you'll know the difference between hungry and just complaining.
The terror is normal and it means you're taking it seriously. Just remember that babies are tougher than they look even though they seem impossibly fragile.
