First night home from hospital and I'm terrified

We left the hospital this morning with our daughter and now she's sleeping in the bassinet next to our bed and I'm just staring at her to make sure she's still breathing. My wife is trying to sleep but I can't. What if I miss something? What if she's not eating enough? Why is she making those weird grunting noises? Is this normal? Please tell me everyone feels this way or I'm gonna go crazy.

That staring thing is totally normal, I did the exact same thing our first night. You'll eventually relax enough to actually sleep, I promise. She's got this and so do you.

Welcome to the club dude. The terror passes after a few nights once you realize babies are tougher than they look. Congrats on your daughter!

First nights are brutal because your brain won't shut off. Try to get some sleep in shifts with your wife if you can. The paranoia gets better real quick.
