We got home 2 hours ago and our newborn has been crying almost continuously. We've changed him, fed him, burped him. I'm trying not to panic but this is way more intense than I expected. Is this normal or should we call someone?
First night home is always intense man. Sounds like you're doing everything right - sometimes babies just need to cry it out a bit. Hang in there, it gets easier.
This happened with both of ours too. The constant crying is scary but you're checking all the boxes. Give it another hour and see if he settles down. You're doing great.
Is he feeding okay? Sometimes continuous crying is hunger even if you just fed him. My wife and I had to feed more frequently than we expected in those first weeks. Also white noise helped us a ton.
That first night was brutal for us too. Honestly we just took shifts so at least one person could get an hour of sleep. The crying does slow down after a few days. You got this.

First night home is insane. We were convinced something was seriously wrong. Turns out our son just needed to be held constantly. We barely slept but by night 3 things got way better. You're in the worst part right now but it gets easier I promise.
