First night home from hospital - I'm terrified

We got home yesterday and I haven't slept because every time the baby makes a sound I wake up to check if she's breathing. My wife says this is normal and not to worry but I'm genuinely scared. How long does this feeling last? When did you guys feel like you actually knew what you were doing?
