First night home with newborn was ROUGH

We brought our son home yesterday and I don't think either of us slept more than 20 minutes. Every noise he makes, I'm convinced something's wrong. My wife is exhausted, baby is crying, and I'm sitting here googling stuff at 3am. Is the first night always this intense or did we get unlucky?
