First poop explosion - what a welcome to parenthood

lmaooo okay so I was changing my newborn's diaper yesterday (literally my second diaper change ever) and he decided to absolutely detonate. I'm talking up the back, onto my shirt, across the changing table. My wife was laughing so hard she was crying. Welcome to parenthood I guess?? Also why is newborn poop so... potent smelling?? Is that normal or is my kid's a special breed
