I know it's probably just gas or a reflex but my son looked right at me and smiled for like two seconds this morning. I literally teared up. Never thought I'd be the guy getting emotional over a baby but here we are. Work can wait, I'm staying home today just to be near him.
I teared up at stuff like this with all three of mine and I'm not ashamed of it. Those early days are something special.
That's not gas, man. Those early smiles hit different. Congrats on that moment, it only gets better from here.
Even if it is just gas that smile means something. It means you're watching, you're present, you're his dad. That's what gets you through the 3am feedings later.
