First smile today and I'm not sure if it was gas or real

Had the most amazing moment this morning. My daughter looked right at me and smiled. Like a real genuine smile. Or at least I think it was real. My mom says it's too early and it's just gas. But it felt different you know? She was looking right in my eyes. I know logically newborns can't really smile intentionally until like 6-8 weeks but man I'm choosing to believe that was a real smile. Felt like I won the lottery.
