First time changing a blowout diaper

Well guys I just experienced my first code brown situation. My 5 week old girl had what I can only describe as a mustard explosion that went up her back, down her legs, and somehow into her hair. I panicked, called my wife in, and we spent 20 minutes getting her cleaned up. She laughed at me the whole time. The smell was unreal. Do you guys use wipes or do you bathe them after these? Also how is this normal? Looking for any tips because I'm sure this won't be the last time.
