First time changing a blowout diaper - tips for not gagging?

Just dealt with the worst diaper situation of my life. Poop up the back, on the onesie, on the blanket. My daughter smiled at me the whole time like she was proud of herself. How do you guys not gag? I was literally breathing through my mouth trying not to throw up. Does it get easier or do you just build up tolerance?

Ha, yeah blowouts are no joke. Pro tip is just accept you're gonna get a little gross on yourself sometimes and move on. Your daughter's smile during it is the best part though, means she's not even stressed about it.

Welcome to the club man, blowouts are rough but you survive them. The gagging part gets better once you realize you've already won by handling it and your daughter doesn't care one bit. That smile means you're doing it right.

Those diaper situations are the worst at first but honestly after a few blowouts you get used to it. The fact that your daughter was happy the whole time means she trusts you, so you're winning despite the mess.
