Getting my two week old to latch is driving me insane

Wife's been struggling with breastfeeding and the lactation consultant said my daughter has a tongue tie. We have an appointment to get it clipped next week but until then feeding is just painful for my wife and frustrating for the baby. She's getting maybe an ounce when she should be getting more. We're supplementing with formula but I feel like we're failing somehow. Anyone else deal with this?

Two weeks in and struggling with latch is so normal and also so frustrating. It's not your fault or your wife's fault. This gets better, I promise. Hang in there.

Tongue ties can be rough. Our daughter had one and it was like night and day once they fixed it. Definitely get that taken care of if that's what it is. Lactation consultant should help guide you there.

If it's a tongue tie they can get that snipped and it's a game changer. Not a big deal procedure but man does it help. Have them check for that specifically.
