My daughter is 3 months old and we're trying to introduce a bottle so my wife can get a break and I can do some night feeds. She'll suck on it for like 30 seconds then spit it out and cry. We've tried different nipples, different temperatures, everything. Has anyone dealt with this? How long did it take before your kid would actually take one? Feeling kind of helpless right now.
This was brutal for us. Our daughter refused bottles for weeks. What finally worked was having someone else give the bottle while mom wasn't in the room. Less of that instinct to look for the real thing.
The bottle thing can be frustrating but hang in there. Honestly giving my wife that break was huge for both of us. Even if it takes a few weeks for your daughter to accept it, it's worth pushing through.
Keep trying different bottle types and nipples. Some babies are picky about the style. Also try feeding her when she's not starving yet so there's less desperation involved. Patience pays off.

We had this problem with our second kid. Try a different bottle nipple style maybe? Also warming the milk to body temp helped. Some babies just take time to adjust. Don't get discouraged, she'll get it.
