How to bond with newborn when mom is doing all the feeding

My wife is breastfeeding and I feel kind of left out. I try to do diaper changes and I hold him but most of his time is with her. Are there other ways I can bond with him and feel more involved in this process? Don't want to be just the guy who changes poops.

Dude, I felt the same way at first with all three kids. Bottle time at night became my jam - even if it's pumped milk, it gives you that feeding connection and lets your wife rest. Game changer for us.

You're in the thick of it right now, but those diaper changes and cuddles are actually building so much. I make sure my diaper bag is always stocked and ready so I can be the go-to parent for changes - it became my bonding ritual.

Those diaper changes and holding time are huge, man. I'd say bath time became my thing with my first - it's one-on-one bonding that mom wasn't doing, and he loved it. You're already doing great by being present.
