The practical idea may still help another new dad: choose one predictable care job to own each day, such as a diaper change, bath setup, carrier walk, or a short play routine. With a very young baby who is awake and calm, try one minute face-to-face: get close enough for baby to see you clearly, copy one expression or sound, then pause. Stop when baby looks away, stiffens, or fusses.

Tummy time is only while awake and directly supervised. For sleep, follow current local safe-sleep guidance and your baby's clinician.
