Is it normal to be this exhausted?

Newborn is 6 days old and I think I've had maybe 8 hours of actual sleep total. I'm hallucinating a little bit. My wife is worse off obviously but I didn't expect this level of tired to exist. When does it get better? Everyone just laughs when I ask like oh just wait but that's not helpful. How long until we can at least get 2-3 hour stretches?
