Just found out we're having a girl and I'm panicking

Got the ultrasound results today. Girl. I always thought I'd have a boy, don't know why. Now I'm freaking out about all this stuff I don't know how to handle. Like, how do I teach her about periods? What do I do when she's a teenager? I feel like I don't have the right equipment for this lol. My dad only had sons so I can't even ask him for advice. Anyone here raising daughters who can tell me it's going to be okay?

Panicking is totally normal but honestly girls don't need you to know everything about girls. You just need to know how to be a good dad. The rest of it kind of works itself out.

Having a girl is amazing man. I was nervous too and then she was born and it just clicked. You'll figure out the differences as you go. She's not going to need anything different than a boy would.

Totally normal reaction but honestly parenting a girl isn't that different from parenting a boy in the early years. Love them, keep them safe, be present. Everything else figures itself out.

The panic will pass, trust me. I had the same freakout when we found out we were having a girl. Three years in and I can't imagine it any other way. You're gonna be fine.

My first was a girl and I had zero plan. Now looking back, all that panic was about nothing. She just needs her dad to show up and care. You're already doing that by being nervous about doing it right.
