Just survived the 4am blowout incident and need to vent

Why does poop have to go UP the back sometimes?? Changed my 8-week-old's diaper at 4am and somehow the damage went all the way up to his hairline. HAIRLINE. Had to give him a full bath in the middle of the night, strip the crib, wash the mattress protector. My wife was laughing at me the whole time and I'm just standing there covered in baby shit at 4:15am questioning all my life choices. I love this kid but why couldn't I have just worked 80 hour weeks like a normal person instead of taking paternity leave.

i started putting a puppy pad under the crib after my second blowout incident. saved me a few times. not glamorous but the 4am baths stopped lol

4am full bath is the most brutal punishment for 15 seconds of diaper changing. you're basically awake for hours after that adrenaline

the fact that you had to give a full bath at 4am while also being exhausted is the most unfair part. like the baby didn't suffer, but you're not sleeping again

8 weeks is still peak chaos mode. the blowouts are actually kind of random at that point. just wait till it gets more consistent (eventually)

UP THE BACK TO THE HAIRLINE is unhinged. how does poop even defy gravity like that? the physics are wrong

this is why I preemptively changed my son's diaper at like 3:50am after one of these incidents. the paranoia is real
