My son smiled at me today

Okay it was probably gas but I'm telling myself it was a real smile and nobody can convince me otherwise. Something just clicked in my brain where I went from being terrified all the time to actually enjoying this. He's only 4 weeks old and I'm already amazed by how fast he's changing. Anyone else get hit with that moment where it suddenly feels real and amazing instead of just scary?

Man, it's definitely real. I'm telling you, at day 6 right now and my daughter has given me a couple of those smiles and they absolutely hit different. Everyone says it's gas but I don't care what the internet says, that was a smile and I'm framing it in my memory forever.

Gas, real smile, who cares honestly. That moment right there is what it's all about. My 4 year old still makes faces at me and I react like he just told me I won the lottery. Enjoy every second of this phase because it goes so fast.

I was there about 4 months ago thinking the exact same thing. Spoiler alert: it WAS a real smile and now my son smiles at me all the time and it's even better. Hold onto that feeling.
