My wife won't let me help at night

I genuinely want to take the night shift or at least split it with my wife but she says I don't do things the right way and it stresses her out more if I'm involved. I know she's exhausted and hormonal but I feel helpless. How do I convince her to let me step up? I want to be a real partner in this not just a guy on the sidelines.
