Looking to set up monitoring in the nursery once we move our 5 month old into his own room (dreading this btw). I keep seeing Nanit and Owlet recommended. Does anyone have experience with both? Mainly care about video quality and being able to check in when I'm at work. Not really into all the "sleep coaching" features they advertise. Budget isn't a huge issue but don't want to overpay either.
Have both. Nanit video is sharper but Owlet's app is way faster to load when you're at work and just want a quick check. For a 5mo in their own room though, honestly neither camera will make the transition suck less lol. You'll still worry either way.
Skip the sleep tracking on both - total gimmick. Just get Nanit for the video quality, especially if you care about seeing what's actually happening. Owlet's sock thing broke after 3 months for us anyway.
One thing nobody mentions: make sure whatever you pick works if your WiFi goes down. Our Owlet was useless during an outage and I had a full panic about it.

Dude the "dreading this" part - totally normal. We moved ours at 5mo too and first night was rough but honestly after a week it was fine. As for cameras, go Nanit if you want to actually see details, Owlet if you want the most notifications (sometimes too many).
