Baby is 5 weeks. Every single diaper change is a production. She screams like we're torturing her even though we're being super gentle and the room is warm. We're doing everything right I think but she hates it. My wife is convinced something is wrong but pediatrician says she's fine. Anyone else have a baby that just hated being changed? Does it pass?
This is so normal at 5 weeks but that doesn't make it less stressful. She'll grow out of it but in the meantime just know you're doing fine even though it feels terrible. Have you tried talking to her during changes to distract her?
Totally normal at that age. Try keeping one hand on her chest the whole time so she knows you're right there. We also found that talking to her constantly during changes helped settle ours down. You're doing great though, sounds like you're being super gentle.
Man, this was exactly us at 5 weeks. Honestly I think they just hate being exposed and cold, even if the room feels warm to us. We started warming up the wipes and diaper on the changing pad first and it helped a ton. Hang in there, it gets easier.

5 weeks in and the diaper screaming phase is brutal. One thing that helped us was warming up the wipes and diaper before we even started. Also going really fast helped. Does she calm down immediately after or does she stay mad?
The screaming is temporary I promise. Our daughter did this exact thing and by week 10 or 11 it totally stopped. The key is staying calm yourself because babies pick up on your stress.
