Bought this thing for like $300 thinking it would give me peace of mind. False. Constantly getting false alarms, the app disconnects randomly, and tbh the strap is uncomfortable for the baby. We switched to a basic white noise machine and a video monitor and honestly? Sleeping better now that I'm not panicking every time the app glitches. Save your money and get the Nanit camera instead. Way better reliability from what other dads in our group chat have said.

Yeah the Owlet is overhyped IMO. $300 for something that just stresses you out more with false alarms? No thanks. Glad you found something that actually works.

We had the same false alarm problem. The app was constantly disconnecting and I was checking it like every 5 minutes anyway so what was even the point. Basic monitor is way better for peace of mind.

The white noise machine is genuinely underrated. We use one and honestly I sleep better too. There's something about consistent background noise that just works.

I feel like Owlet preyed on anxious new parents (which... fair, we're all anxious) but the product doesn't deliver. You'd think for $300 it would actually reduce anxiety not create more of it.
