Considering getting one for peace of mind with our newborn. The reviews seem mixed (a lot of false alarms) but also some parents swear by it. Anyone here actually use it? Is it helping you sleep better or just adding more anxiety? Genuinely asking because I want to know if this is legit or just expensive baby anxiety fuel.
The false alarms thing is what killed it for us. We had one for like 3 weeks and the anxiety of the random alerts was almost worse than just checking on her manually. Returned it.
We use a Nanit instead and like it way more. Still not cheap but better reviews for false alarm rate. That said, most of the stress comes from us not the baby at this stage.
responding to the anxiety comment - this is real. my wife was obsessed with owlet data and it just made her check the app constantly. we ended up going back to regular monitor and she actually relaxed more
Honestly? Just get a cheap video monitor and stop reading reddit posts about SIDS. The anxiety spiral is worse than not having the data.

Owlet seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it thing. Some parents swear it saved their kid, others get so many false alarms they turn it off. The $300 is the real problem. That's a lot to spend on something that might stress you out more.
