Sleep deprivation is actually a form of torture and I have proof
We're 8 weeks in with our daughter and I'm pretty sure I've forgotten how to sleep. Not because she doesn't sleep but because my brain is broken. I'll lay down and immediately think 'is she breathing' and go check. Then I'm awake and can't fall back asleep for an hour. Finally doze off and she cries. My wife warned me but I thought I'd be fine. I thought wrong. I called a coworker by my dog's name yesterday. When does the paranoia part stop?
Dude you're not alone in this at all. The broken brain thing is real, it gets better though. Hang in there
