My wife keeps saying he needs to learn to self soothe but honestly I don't mind holding him all night. He's so tiny and warm. But I'm starting to worry we're creating bad habits. Anyone else deal with this? When did your babies start sleeping in the bassinet without losing their minds?

Totally normal at 3 weeks. Your wife might be stressed about sleep stuff but honestly that newborn phase is fleeting. Enjoy the cuddles because they grow up fast.

I get what your wife is saying but also, a 3 week old can't self soothe yet. His brain isn't there. Hold your son, that's what he needs right now.

Self soothing comes way later, don't stress about it now. At 3 weeks he just needs to know you're there. You're doing great.

Totally normal at 3 weeks, man. My son did the same thing and I loved it too. Just remember you can't spoil a newborn by holding him, so soak it up while you can.

Three weeks is super early. He's not gonna develop bad habits by being held, that's a myth. Hold him as much as you want. The self soothing stuff can come way later.
