That First Real Smile Changed Everything

My son is 8 weeks old and yesterday he smiled at me. Not a gas smile, a real smile. I know everyone says this but I get it now. Everything else just faded away for a second. My wife caught it on video. I've watched it like fifty times already. I came to this forum months ago freaking out about becoming a dad and honestly that one smile made me understand why people have kids. I'm in love.

Welcome to the club where a baby's smile basically rewires your entire brain. Everything changes after that first real one. That's the stuff nobody warns you about but everyone understands.

Man that's the moment right there. My oldest is past that stage now but I remember when my youngest gave me that first real smile and it just hits different. You're in the best part buddy, soak it all in.
