The diaper blowout nobody warns you about

First time changing our son alone and he projectile pooped up his back, through his outfit, and onto my shirt while I was holding him. I just stood there confused for like 30 seconds not knowing where to even start. Called my wife in from the other room like I'd never changed a diaper before. Why doesn't anyone tell you these things come with that kind of force?
